It's late. Past midnight.
And there are mice crawling everywhere...
I ate a few and was finally at peace.
Chocolate Cookie Mice
Happy Hallowe'en!
Cupcakes are cooling. God help me with the frosting.
Just a quick end-of-the-day update before I pass out from sheer exhaustion: The cupcakes went off much better than I expected. I couldn't have done it without Archana's help. I will post pictures as soon as I can and reply to all your comments. All the positive vibes kept me going! Thank you!

Wow...they are so cute...
What are Medha's plans for today?
Cute !!!! I am sure that you did well with the frosting, if you can make these mice, icing a cake is going to be a breeze for you. Hope you are having fun.
What a great idea of eating mice.
Cute!!
Cheers,Trupti
They are so cute!
nice pictures..:-)waiting for more:-)
That must be one halloween party if you had screaming cups, mice and cup cakes :-)
I loooved the orange burfi. I could almost taste the citrusy flavor through my laptop...
Vani, no mouse traps needed! Just crunch down on them! Yum!
SH, yes that is what I told myself to keep going. One enthu Mom, I am. Because once I started on the mice, I realized I was going to be up all night shaping those things! And I was far too vested in it to give up or make reg'lar round cookies.
Sree, despite my worst fears and some mishaps like couplers and nozzles flying off the frosting bag, the cupcakes turned out quite nice!
Shankari, her little chest was all puffed up with pride. Her Mom arrived at school looking rather scruffy after having been up most of the night, with hair that was going in all directions, held back very poorly by a loose 'cat' hairband. But she didn't care! In a couple of years, I will be banned from showing up at her school, I am sure!
RP, to know the the pleasures of biting before being bitten into! Ah! Try it!
Sia, thanks and welcome!
Shilpa, the school had a Hallowe'en parade. It was c-c-c-c-cold (low 30s with a light breeze) so the parade did not go out of the building much. The parade started with the kindergartners, and the parade grew with each class that they walked through. They walked through every class in the school and you got a chance to see the folks behind you when you reached your home-room. The Principal was dressed up as a buxom old woman in a skirt with a rather large behind. He hid his face behind a large fan. He was hilarious!
Medha was a Spider Countess. We met with some neighbors and then trick or treated in 3 neighborhoods in temps that were probably in the teens with the windchills. It was 27F when the sun went down! We had to do 3 'hoods because we had 3 trick-or-treaters, each from a different neighborhood. I was frozen to the bone by the time we came home. Luckily there was no ice or snow to slip on!
Archana, you're the best of the best! Icing was fun, fun, fun! I can see myself doing a lot more of this! Thank you!
Manju, I made about 30 and the kids thought it was a swell idea! And, welcome to IFR!
Trupti, thanks and welcome!
Nidhi, glad you think so! Good to have you here!
Meena, I posted the pics. Let me know what you think! :-D
Ashwini, we had a ball! Medha couldn't carry her loot by the end of it. And we still have a lot of candy at home so I have no clue what we are going to do with it. I should check to see if there is a Children's Home that will take loose candy. And, the orange burfi is yum! I loved the taste of the peel in the burfi. Delicious!
